Homemade almond milk
- Soak raw almonds in a jar or glass jar so that the water completely covers all the fruit. For creamier milk or for coffee milk, take more almonds. Almonds will swell by soaking, making sure the bowl is not too small. If you are able to soak, use spring or filtered water.
- Sprinkle the water in which the almonds have been soaked. You can use it to water flowers or the garden. Saute the almonds under running water and drain.
- Transfer the almonds to a blender and pour 500 ml of fresh water. It is even better if you have spring water, it is healthier. Blend at maximum speed for at least one minute.
- Strain the milk through a large sterile gauze of thick fabric, so that the inside of the large container is lined with a cloth, but that the ends of the gauze exceed the ends of the container. The container must also be clean, and the bottle in which you will store the milk.
- Now that you have strained all the milk into a bowl, it should be carefully poured into a glass bottle with a stopper. Store it in the refrigerator. It will take 3 days for sure, maybe 5 before it breaks down.
- After squeezing, you have a bud left, ie. almond meat. Don't throw it away. Use it as an addition to muesli or smoothies.
