Instructions

Now, here is the process to a perfectly fried salmon

  • In a bowl, mix the baking powder, flour, and sea salt. Slowly whisk in the lager or beer until the batter is smooth and thick. Keep in the fridge for a half-hour if the batter is thin. This will help it maintain its thickness.
  • Take a saucepan or a deep fryer and heat the oil. Drop-in some batter to check if the oil is properly heated.
  • Now, dip the Salmon into the batter. Make sure it is well coated, and then carefully place it in the hot oil. Continue to fry until the batter is golden and the fish is cooked – ensure you don't overcook it. You can also check the fish with a meat thermometer. It's okay if the fish is a little translucent on the inside.
  • Once cooked, keep the fish on a rack and let it cool for five minutes.
  • Finally, serve with salt and vinegar, a slice of lemon, and some peas and chips if you like.

Tips to Make the Battered Salmon Extra Crispy

Want to make restaurant-style crispy battered Salmon? Follow these tips

  • Soak the fish dry with a kitchen towel before dipping it in the batter. This evaporates the extra moisture from the fish and helps absorb the batter completely.
  • Be careful when using hot oil – for the perfect crisp, use a frying basket or a slotted spoon when frying the fish.
  • If you’re a health freak, you can also air fry or bake the fish. The texture may vary, but you won’t be disappointed.
  • Season the fillets – Many people will skip this step, assuming that the batter will have enough seasoning. To get the extra kick of flavor, season your fillet and then dip it in the batter.
  • This is crucial. After battering the fillet, please keep them in the fridge for half an hour. This will allow fish to absorb the batter, thus encompassing all the flavors.
