Honey Butter Almond Recipe
Ingredients Â
For the almonds
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1.5 cups roasted almonds
- 3 tbsp powdered white sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon, (Optional)
For the coating
- 1 tbsp powdered white sugar
InstructionsÂ
- In a medium skillet pan, add the butterÂ
- When the butter is completely melted, mix in the honey and powdered sugar
- Heat the butter mixture to boiling while stirring occasionally
- Cook the mixture in a medium skillet over low to medium heat
- Add half a teaspoon of cinnamon if you want
- Add in the roasted almonds and cook on low heat, mixing with a spatula till all the almonds are properly covered in the mixture, about 2 minutes
- After the almonds are properly cooked in the butter mixture, remove and transfer them on a wax paper or baking sheet lined on a plastic tray to coolÂ
- Spread in a single layer
- Leave for 30 minutes till the almonds have cooled downÂ
- At this point, they will be sticking together
- Transfer the almonds to a plastic ziplock bag and use a wooden spatula to crack them loose from each other
- Lastly, put some powdered sugar into the bag and shake it to evenly coat the almonds with sugar
- Serve with your choice warm beverage and enjoy!
Tips for the recipe
- To roast the almonds, spread in an non-greased baking pan and place in an oven at 350° F. Bake for 10 minutes or until the almonds turn golden brown and fragrant. They will continue to roast later in the pan.Â
- The honey butter almonds can easily be stored in an airtight container or zip lock bag for up to 3 months
- If you bake the almonds in advance, you will get a more crispy outer texture
