Cucumbers are known to add a star to salads, sandwiches, wraps, pickles, and even snacks. They contain 96% water content by volume. Nevertheless, where the immense water content helps keep the skin nourished, and body hydrated; it provides us with a challenge in storing it. Storing such a watery content might make it dry.
If stored correctly, they can last for approximately a week. On the other hand, cut cucumbers will only survive a few days in the refrigerator. Generally, they have a short shelf life but can be preserved in ways that increase their storage life.
Use a Plastic Wrap
Wrap them tightly in plastic, and place them in an airtight storage container in your refrigerator. The plastic wrap forms a waterproof second skin over the fruit/vegetables, which prevents moisture loss.
Wrapping cucumbers in plastic wrap slows down the riping process and keeps them fresh for longer. Cucumbers kept free or in a Ziploc bag last longer than the ones covered in foil.
