Longhorn Creamed Spinach Recipe
- 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter. (You can use salted too)
- 1 tbsp Flour.
- ½ tbsp Garlic. Chopped and minced
- ¾ cup Heavy Cream. You can use more or less depending on the consistency you prefer)
- ½ cup Parmesan Cheese. Shredded (you can add Mozzarella and Cheddar to make it more cheesy)
- 2½ cup Spinach. Fresh or frozen chopped Leaves
Optional/You can add any vegetable you like
- ¼ cup Bell Peppers. Chopped (green/yellow/red)
- ¼ cup Cherry Tomatoes. Chopped
- ¼ cup Green Onions. Chopped
Here is what you need to do;
- Preheat the oven to 359 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Take a medium-sized skillet and melt the butter over medium flame.
- As the butter melts, throw in the garlic and cook until the aroma fills the air.
- Lower the flame a little, and stir in the heavy cream gradually. Keep stirring until it thickens and smoothens. We do not want any lumps forming.
- Add in the cheese and mix well. If you want the consistency to be less thick, you can add more cream and vice versa.
- Add in the spinach and cook until the leaves wilt. (you can add other veggies too).
- Transfer this mixture into a baking pan and spread evenly.
- Top it with some more cheese and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve hot as an appetizer or as a side dish with the main course!
