There is never a bad day for the refreshing Vodka Margarita

Margarita and Vodka; The Pact

Vodka means ‘water’ in the Russian Language. It makes a macho entry into the alcohol world stirring up a conflict between The Russians and the Polish as to who should get the credit of creating it. Vodka’s life is crystal clear, as it doesn’t contain any colors, and feels flavorless (slightly bitter). However, it carries the aroma around hoping to find a match.

Margarita, on the other hand, is all fancy and sophisticated. The fancy name comes from the famous singer Peggy Lee. A typical margarita is a blend of tequila, triple sec, agave syrup, and lime juice. In addition, it brings sweetness to the palate along with its sour side.

Opposites Attract

For ages, people have bragged about the strong role of tequila in a margarita and how inseparable these two are. Little did they know that vodka would take over tequila one day. The blandness of vodka makes room for experimentation while creating a margarita. The infusion is more colorful and flavorsome than regular vodka. So, a vodka margarita is a more happening version of the traditional margarita. Together we call them” vodkarita”.

Imbibe the Concoction

Now it’s time to have some fun and create magic. So don’t panic if you’ve run out of tequila in your pantry; add your favorite vodka, and it will all be just fine.

Take 2 oz. of vodka, 1 oz. of freshly squeezed lemon juice, about ½ ounce of each the agave syrup, and any orange liqueur (Triple sec or Cointreau both are highly recommended). Now get shaking for about 10-15 seconds. Pour out the infusion in your cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon wheel.

It’s All About The Look

Presentation is the key to make any cuisine or any sort of drink enticing. Since it took us forever to accept vodkarita, we should try to serve up the usual way a margarita or cocktail is served. The concept of ‘salt-rim’ makes it relatable. For this, do a split in the lime wheel, go around the rim, add salt in a saucer, and invert the glass to get a perfect salt-coated rim.

Types of Vodka-Margarita

Skinny Vodkarita

As the name suggests, this infusion is for people who like to have fun whilst thoroughly monitoring their weight. It is ideal as it uses fresh fruits in place of liqueur and syrup to get the sweetness. Sparkling water makes it bubbly, like enjoying an alcoholic soda.

For this, you’ll need a fresh peach (peeled and chopped), few strawberries, around 2 oz. of vodka, and 6 oz. of sparkling mineral water. First, blend the peach and strawberries along with vodka and ice to get that perfect texture. Next, fill your glass with crushed ice, add the mix and drizzle some sparkling water.

This is a healthy spin on the classic margarita.

Kamikaze Cocktail Shots

Are you in the mood for something retro yet contemporary?

Let’s shout out to this one with an ounce of vodka, half an ounce of lime juice, and Triple Sec; this Vodka Margarita will make you feel nostalgic. However, you need to decorate your shot glass with a lemon wedge before starting to roll.

So bring it on shots, shots, shots, and shots!

Absolut Watermelon Vodkarita

Now this one is simply refreshing and calls for a fiesta.

We’ll add 2 parts of Absolut Watermelon, one and a half parts of fresh watermelon juice, three-quarters of simple syrup and lime juice, and one-quarter of orange liqueur of your choice. Use a rock glass for the greedy you, stack it with loads of ice, and finish it with sliced watermelon and a lime wedge.

Add a punch to your summers and say Cheers!
