Preheat the oven to 350°F, after placing the rack in the middle of the oven
Add the oil, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne to a large bowl and whisk until blended
Wash, de-stem, and chop the kale into 1-inch pieces. Add it into the bowl and toss to coat
Spread the kale pieces onto a large baking sheet in a single layer
Bake until crispy, 16 to 20 minutes, turning once during cooking
