  • 1 lb Ground Beef or Stew Beef
  • 1 tsp Allspice
  • 1 Onion Minced
  • 1-2 cup Tomatoes Crushed
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 tbsp Coriander Grounded
  • 3 cups Spinach Roughly chopped
  • Salt To taste
  • Pepper To taste


  • In a large pot, brown the beef. Do this over medium-high heat.
  • Add the spice, salt, and pepper. Once the beef is browned, add minced onions, garlic, and 1 tbsp of coriander. Toss until onions become translucent.
  • Add 1 cup of water to cover the beef. Bring to a boil and lower the heat. Simmer without covering the pot until all the water is almost absorbed.
  • Add crushed tomatoes, broth, and stir. Add a handful of rice and spinach.
  • Stir the teaspoon of coriander. Simmer until the rice becomes cooked and till the spinach is wilted.
  • Your Egyption Spinach is ready to be served.
