  • 1 tsp Baking Powder.
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt.
  • 150 gram Plain Flour.
  • 200 ml Beer or Larger.
  • 1 liter Sunflower oil for frying.
  • 3 to 4 Salmon fillets, with skin.

To Serve:

  • 1 quarter Lemon.
  • Vinegar and Salt.

Now, here is the process to a perfectly fried salmon

  • In a bowl, mix the baking powder, flour, and sea salt. Slowly whisk in the lager or beer until the batter is smooth and thick. Keep in the fridge for a half-hour if the batter is thin. This will help it maintain its thickness.
  • Take a saucepan or a deep fryer and heat the oil. Drop-in some batter to check if the oil is properly heated.
  • Now, dip the Salmon into the batter. Make sure it is well coated, and then carefully place it in the hot oil. Continue to fry until the batter is golden and the fish is cooked – ensure you don't overcook it. You can also check the fish with a meat thermometer. It's okay if the fish is a little translucent on the inside.
  • Once cooked, keep the fish on a rack and let it cool for five minutes.
  • Finally, serve with salt and vinegar, a slice of lemon, and some peas and chips if you like.
