Chocolate peanut butter spread

  • 1 cup peanut or mixed nut butter 
  • ½ cup chopped dark chocolate 
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • sweetener
  • Pinch of salt


  • Start by chopping the chocolate. After this, melt it in a double boiler or bain-marie.
  • To do this, place the chopped chocolate in a bowl (heat-proof).
  • Using a pan that fits the bowl. Fill it with water. Make sure that the water doesn't touch the bottom of the pan.
  • Next, fit the bowl on top of the pan. Heat the water on medium-low heat. Allow chocolate to melt. Continue to stir.
  • Ensure that the water doesn't boil. In case it starts to boil. Turn off the heater and stir the chocolate until it melts. 
  • Add the coconut oil and mix.
  • Add the peanut butter, vanilla extract, salt, and sweetener.
  • Pour chocolate peanut butter spread in a jar. Allow it to cool and set for several hours.
  • Serve as desired.
