Toasted Almond Tiramisu Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package ladyfingers, (Savoiardi)

For the mascarpone cream

  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp Amaretto liqueur

For the amaretti topping

  • 20 20 amaretti cookies
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

For the dipping mixture

  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp Amaretto liqueur

Instructions
 

  • Mix the amaretti and almonds and put them in a food processor 
  • Pulse until both the cookies and almonds are coarsely chopped, set aside once done
  • Place the mascarpone and almond extract in a medium-sized bowl and stir
  • In another bowl, combine the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and amaretto 
  • Beat the ingredients using an electric beater till a soft mixture forms
  • Take 1/4th of the whipped cream and fold it into the mascarpone cheese
  • Gradually add the remaining whipped cream into the mascarpone and fold until all ingredients are thoroughly combined, set aside once done
  • Place the dipping mixture ingredients in a shallow bowl and stir
  • Dip a ladyfinger into the mixture one by one, turn to coat, and remove 
  • Repeat until you have enough ladyfingers to cover the bottom of the dish
  • Top the first layer with ½ of the mascarpone cream and then make a third layer ½ of the amaretti topping. Repeat the process once
  • Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4-5 hours 
  • Serve chilled!
